The first cottage on Pine Island Sound was built back in 1928, and since then, it has become an institution. Jensen’s is dedicated to preserving Captiva Island’s natural beauty and charm while honoring its past.

History of Jensen’s Twin Palm Marina and Cottages® on Captiva Island
Jensen’s Twin Palm Marina and Cottages® traces its history back to the 1920s, when the hospitality industry in Southwest Florida was starting to take off.
With the expansion of rail travel, more people were discovering the charm of Captiva Island. Although the property has had various owners and names over the years, some things have remained constant: stunning sunsets, excellent fishing, and great fun.

Begins in 1977
In 1977, Red and Betty Jensen purchased the marina property, now known as Jensen’s Twin Palm Marina and Cottages®. Since then, guests from various backgrounds have enjoyed the Marina and its amenities. Famous personalities such as John F. Kennedy Jr., Danny Devito, Ted Turner, Kevin Costner, and Rob Lowe have also spent their leisure time at Jensen’s Marina.

Jensen’s Marina is renowned for its vintage Florida ambiance, which has been preserved over the years.
